Do you know what this means?
Your life just got easier.
How?
With NiceJob’s improved automation using Webhooks and Zapier, data can flow between programs, enabling NiceJob to work seamlessly with different web apps—this means fewer gaps in information and less manual work for you!
There are lots of ways NiceJob’s expanded automation opportunities can benefit your business.
That’s why in this article I’ll explain how this deeper automation works and explore some of the use cases that you can apply to your own company.
(Oh! And if you’re not already using NiceJob, these new features we’re about to dive into can still benefit your business, but we suggest starting with these tips on how to get customer reviews to support small businesses.)
Zapier empowers you to connect two different web applications that otherwise wouldn’t "talk" to one another.
Zapier moves information between software systems. This means a defined trigger in one app results in an action in the other. This is called a "zap."
To be clear, this allows data to flow from NiceJob to trigger actions in other apps and vice versa; information from other apps can trigger actions in NiceJob.
If this sounds like a foreign language to your ears, here are a couple of key definitions to help you understand with examples:
This is an event that starts a zap, or, the movement of data.
There are two new triggers you can use in NiceJob: person created or updated and review created or updated.
You can use these triggers to power zaps with other apps or software by reacting to "person" or "review" events in NiceJob.
Here’s an example of how your business can use this: A trigger for "review created" in NiceJob can result in an action like "campaign created in Mailchimp.
An action is an event your zap performs when your trigger occurs. Actions allow you to create data in apps, such as NiceJob.
The new actions you can use include: enroll contact, create or update person, create booking, case, employee, invoice, payment and visit.
Here’s an example of how your business can use this: A "create payment" action enables you to see the size of a job next to the review that was left for it, or a "create employee" action can link into the employee leaderboard.
With these new triggers and actions available, you can set up all kinds of different apps to communicate with one another, freeing up your time to focus on other (more important) things. May your automation dreams come true!

Webhooks automatically pass information between systems that would otherwise not share information or be connected.
This way, for instance, whenever a change in information occurs that is relevant to the other system, that other system will be notified immediately of those changes.
This helps keep all data synced and up to date.
You can register webhooks in different ways.
A general webhook can be registered if two systems want any/all changes in data to be noted.
Or, if changes to specific events are relevant, those webhooks can be registered as well.
Topics that NiceJob supports include campaign, campaign enrollment, conversation, employee, invoice, job, person, photo, review and story.
Please follow these steps if you’re interested in setting up webhooks:

In the meantime, we hope these new features allow you to securely move data you care about between systems. This will not only keep data up to date but will free up your time via greater automation capabilities.
