NiceJob Academy Lesson 5: Broadcasts

Written by Elaine Pu | Nov 2, 2026, 5:04:00 PM

So far in NiceJob Academy, you’ve learned how to make the most of your customer relationships at some of the most important points in the journey: asking for reviews, responding to feedback, bringing past customers back, and encouraging referrals.

But customer engagement doesn’t have to stop when those campaigns are done.

There are always new reasons to reach out. Maybe you have a few open appointments you want to fill, you’re introducing a new service, a seasonal opportunity is coming up, or you simply have an update you want your customers to know about. These moments may not fit into an automated referral or Get Repeats campaign, but they can still be valuable opportunities to reconnect with your customers.

That’s where Broadcasts come in.

One Feature. Endless Reasons to Reach Out.

Your customer list is made up of people who already know your business. They’ve booked a service, worked with your team, and had an experience with you, which means you already have an audience to reach when you have something relevant to share.

Maybe you’ve launched a new service, have a few appointments to fill, want to promote a seasonal offering, or simply have an important business update to share. These are moments when you may want to reach out, even though they don’t fit into an automated review, referral, or repeat campaign. NiceJob Broadcasts gives you a simple way to make those one-off customer touchpoints happen. You choose what to say, who should receive it, and when it should go out.

Here’s how NiceJob Broadcasts works:

  • Step 1: Craft your campaign: Create your message manually or use AI to help you draft it. Start with the reason you’re reaching out, then make the value clear. If you’re promoting a service, explain why customers might need it. If you’re sharing an offer, make the benefit and deadline easy to understand. If you’re sending an update, give customers the information they actually need.

  • Step 2: Choose your audience: Decide who would find the message most relevant. You can reach your full customer list or target a specific group based on factors such as service history, timing, or engagement. For example, a seasonal service may be more relevant to customers who have used that service before, while a business-wide announcement may make sense for your full list.

  • Step 3: Send or schedule: Send your Broadcast immediately when the message is time-sensitive, or schedule it for a date and time that makes sense for your campaign. A last-minute opening might need to go out today, while a seasonal promotion could be planned ahead.

The more intentional you are about what you’re saying, who you’re saying it to, and when you’re sending it, the more useful your Broadcast can be. Instead of another message sitting in a customer’s inbox, you’re giving them a relevant reason to reconnect with your business.

Put Broadcasts to Work

Broadcasts can do more than promote a discount. The best use is to give customers a timely, relevant reason to reconnect with your business. Before sending one, think about what’s happening in your business right now and what your customers would actually find useful.

Here are a few ways to get started:

Fill Last-Minute Availability

Have a cancellation or a few open spots on the schedule? Use a Broadcast to let customers know while those appointments are still available.

For example, a salon could send: “We had a couple of appointments open up this Thursday. Looking for a last-minute refresh? Book your spot while it’s available.”

Try this when: You have unexpected availability and want to reach customers who may be able to book on short notice.

Promote Seasonal Services

Think about what your customers are likely to need at different times of the year, then reach out before they start looking for it elsewhere.

  • Landscaping: Spring cleanups, lawn treatments, fall yard cleanup

  • Cleaning: Pre-holiday or seasonal deep cleans

  • HVAC: Seasonal maintenance before summer or winter

  • Home services: Weather-related maintenance or preparation

For example: “Spring is almost here! If your yard needs a cleanup after the winter, our spring cleanup appointments are now open.”

Try this when: A service becomes more relevant because of the season, weather, or an upcoming event.

Introduce a New Service

Your existing customers already know your business, making them a natural audience when you expand what you offer. Instead of simply announcing what’s new, explain who the service is for and why they might want it.

For example: “We’ve added lawn fertilization to our services! If you’re looking to give your lawn a boost this season, our team can help.”

Try this when: You launch a new service, add a new product, or expand what customers can book with you.

Share Important Updates

Not every Broadcast needs to drive an immediate booking. Sometimes, keeping customers informed is the reason to reach out.

You could share:

  • New service areas

  • Updated business hours

  • A new location

  • Changes that affect customers

  • Business milestones or community updates

For example: “We’re excited to announce that we’re now serving Oakville and Burlington! If you have friends or family in the area who need our services, we’d love to help.”

Try this when: You have information customers would benefit from knowing or sharing.

Create a Limited-Time Offer

Broadcasts can also help you promote an offer when there’s a clear reason for customers to act now. Make the details easy to understand and include a specific deadline whenever possible.

For example: “Book your next service by Friday and receive 10% off your appointment. Availability is limited, so grab your spot while you can.”

Try this when: You want to drive bookings around a specific promotion, deadline, or limited-time opportunity.

The common thread? Relevance. Before creating a Broadcast, ask yourself: Why would my customers care about this right now? If you can answer that clearly, you have the foundation for a message worth sending.
